There are a range of activities available all over North Devon and over the years we have created close links with some of the best providers in the area. We are not able to book all of these as part of your adventure package with us, however you may wish to take part in some other activities to make your stay in the area that extra bit special. Here are just a few of the choices available to you.
This activity will provide exhilarating experiences as you traverse along bridleways and other designated routes all within spectacular countryside. All rides are on cross-country routes where we use as much traffic free terrain as possible, mostly off road and quiet country lanes. If you have your own bikes and equipment, one-way transfers can be arranged to get you and your bikes back to the start, saving the long slog back up the hill!
Exmoor Experience Exmoor is for those riders with some mountain bike experience who want to see what this fantastic National Park has to offer. Take your bike along some ancient trails with unforgettable scenery, spotting the varied flora and fauna along the way. Wild deer, the famous Exmoor ponies and various birds of prey are just some of the wildlife you might see. Self guided tours are available highlighting some of the best and often unknown routes.
Guided Cycle Rides. North Devon is incredibly lucky to be situated right on the famous Tarka Cycle Route network and offers some stunning bike rides. H2Outdoor offers guided rides to ensure you see the best bits at a pace and distance to suit you. Enjoy a short journey around the local area with stunning scenery including the Taw & Torridge Estuary and the Braunton Burrow Biosphere Reserve or why not take on the “Coast to Coast” challenge and cycle from Ilfracombe to Plymouth along miles upon miles of traffic free cycle routes over a series of days. Ilfracombe has a fantastic Victorian harbour and is a great location from which to charter a boat. Take a leisurely cruise on many of the boats that are available or enjoy the thrill of the new RIB boats that will take you along the coast at speeds up to 20 knots. The North Devon coast is very special and has loads to see so why not take in the superb scenery, high sea cliffs and search for dolphins, seals, porpoises and other marine creatures.
Chartering a boat is a great way to escape the crowds and see the coast from a different angle. Boats can be hired for the whole day, half day or just a couple of hours.
If you fancy having a go at clay shooting, then North Devon has some great shooting grounds for you and your group. There is a range of packages available for individuals and parties which enables groups of novices or mixed ability to shoot together and is also suitable for a stag or hen party. All sessions will include a master eye test, safety brief, use of the guns, hearing protection and full instruction over 3 different stands where you will see incoming, going away and crossing clays of varying amounts.
Fly Like a Bird provides Tandem Air Experience Hang Gliding flights in North Devon. They can offer custom packages by using trusted local partners, and they use the latest technology to give you a complete experience of the south west countryside from the air.

The leaders of this activity will take you through some of the most important skills required to survive in the wilderness such as lighting fires, building stretchers and shelters and finding essential food and drinking water. This activity can be booked independently or can be added to the itinerary of one of our walks and expeditions.

We provide guided walks and hikes for all fitness levels and can turn vacationers into explorers. Choose whether you would like to go by day or night or on a longer expedition involving an overnight stay. Just let us know your preferred location and the distance you would like to travel and we will do the rest. This is an ideal way of experiencing the best North Devon has to offer, as we can guide you on lesser known routes often off the tourist trails.
We can provide sessions for you to acquire new skills in map and compass reading or organise something more light-hearted like a treasure hunt in beautiful Devon surroundings.

This is an action packed and fun way to discover the thrill of navigating an all terrain vehicle over cross country trails while still enjoying the superb Devon countryside. No experience is necessary as training will be given by qualified staff at the centre. Choose from 3 different track sessions.
Novice rides These include track tuition and then onto approximately 3 miles of tracks, mud, water and hills all at a sedate speed giving you the chance to get to grips with your bike.
Skill Trail Having completed the novice ride, try speeding around approximately 8 miles of more advanced terrain before finishing with an exhilarating blast across the skyline
Super Skill Trail For the adrenalin junkies out there!! Approximately 12 miles.

Experience the North Devon countryside and beautiful coastal scenery riding a horse or pony? H2Outdoor has teamed up with a local Riding Stables which has a great location, good facilities and a high level of animal welfare. The Riding stables is a British Horse Society, Pony Club and Clubmark Approved Equestrian Centre and offers a selection of rides over 200 acres of open countryside, wooded valleys as well as the dunes and stunning 3miles of golden sand at the award winning Woolacombe beach.
You will be given the best horse or pony for your level of experience before setting off to soak up the fresh air and freedom of the countryside. Choose from a selection of rides from a 1 hour trek to the 1 3/4 hour Beach Ride (experienced riders only) All rides are escorted and boots and hats are provided free of charge.
Why not experience a day at the stables. This is suitable for children 7 years and above and offers you the opportunity to receive instruction and a ride in the morning and after lunch (supplied on request) a further 1 hour ride. As well as meeting all the horses and ponies, grooming, tacking up etc, rosettes will be awarded to all participants.
